By now most know we had another member meeting to try get the amended park rules passed. As it turned out we didn't even have enough members show up to get a 51% vote. About 30 more were needed. So the ones that did come were offered the chance to mark on their voting card a simple yes or no vote as to whether they accepted the rules as amended. The rest of the members will have to vote by ballot. After enough yeses come in the new park rules will be in effect.
Most have got the letter stating the new lot rent starting in July 1st, will be $415/month for members and $515 for non-members.
Serving on the board and trying to run my own business as well as taking care of normal family matters has sucked up all kinds of time. I've found it difficult to do it all. It feels like April 14threference.
all the time right now... the feeling we get racing to get taxes done in time. I wanted to be regular at posting to this blog, however my busy season with my secular work is here and I don't have the time or energy to give it attention. For that reason I'm retiring from posting further to the blog. Of course it will stay up for historical
I believe it has fulfilled it's purpose: to inform the members of the progress towards becoming owners of our own Resident Owned Community. Oh by the way we have a sign coming this summer. The NHCLF has offered it to us for free...I like the price. It's a logo and says Resident Owned Community. So watch for it this summer. Eventually we'll have an attractive sign with our Cooperative name for the front entrance. Good morning...
Hopefully we get the "yes" votes we need. Cant wait for the sign, it will be easier for visitors to see, the street sign right now is set back and sometimes they miss it.
As far as the web page, I have built them in the past. My computer guy in CA has helped me, he does it for a living. If I can help out with that i will :)

can we use the drop off box or not? I dropped off my rent check in the drop box because no one was in the office yesterday after 3:00pm. I hope they get my rent.

Louise,
Yes Please!
Hi, I was wondering if it could be possible to have a speed bump put on Hilton Ave. between the beginning of the street and the mailboxes. People come around that corner and drive too fast trying to get to the mailboxes. It's dangerous for people trying to back out of the driveways and also crossing the road.
Thank you

I totally agree with you louise, i was waiting for the bus one day and this white jeep grand cherokee came around the corner by your house and had to be doing 40 miles her hour around the corner, i am surprised he didnt roll. I yelled at him to slow down and so didnt the women behind me. The bus was due and this guy just came out of nowhere and flew down the road and i heard the tires screech when he got around the corner by the mailboxes. There are way to many kids in this area for people to do that, someone could have gotten hurt, or worse!
i also noticed that people are again leaving unwanted newspapers at the mailboxes...can we get a trash barrel there so they can just put them in there instead of having it fly all over the street?

We shouldn't put out a trash barrel for the use of a few people that are to lazy to carry home their unwanted mail, nor should we have to pay somenoe to pick it up. Onct you do that it will be like Vincent St was. They will use it for a drop off for unwanted items and someone will also have to pick that up. I would like to thank the folks that have taken the time out off their busy lives to work on the board over the last five months.A job well done by all.

There is a huge problem with speeding around here. Yesterday I took my kids outside from 4-6. I have three small children, 4 years 3 years, and 4 months. Most of the time its just me and the kids my husband works, goes to school, and since I myself don't have a license he's also my errand boy.
It's becoming a pain to take my kids outside and let them play and be KIDS. Yesterday I took them out from 4-6, they wanted to ride their bikes I told them that was fine. After a few minutes I decided to take them around the block. I had my three and three older kids with me. The older kids were 12, 9, and 9. Anyway we went down Morton, around the corner to Cherry, up Lindenshire, and back down Morton street to my house. When we got on Lindenshire a blue car (I'm clueless about makes/models) was coming in our direction I yelled car, and all the kids got to the side of the road and stopped, my daughter had a bit of trouble but did get over to the opposite side of me and stopped her bike, but before she did this car decides instead of stopping for a brief second to weave in-between myself with the stroller and my little girl not even slowing down while maneuvering between us. They were already going faster than the posted speed limit for the park.
Even on my street which is mostly quiet traffic wise once the weather gets nice, and mostly the times people are going to and from work, and kids are going to and from school, we get morons who fly up and down the street not bothering to stop or even slow down. The saddest thing are there's a group of kids always playing, and it's not the newly licensed teenagers it's the adults. Some of which live on my street with children of there own!
Then there are the few children in my area with NO parental supervision WHAT-SO-EVER taking it upon themselves to come into our yard and our neighbors whenever they feel like it taking our things or destroying tree's, or ridding their bikes through the yard as fast as they can tearing up what little grass I have. Most of the parents that I know around here ARE responsible for their children, but unfortunately there are those who just let the kids out to do whatever they want wherever they want with no respect for anyone else and its frustrating and sad. For the most part we mind our own business and keep quiet, but I'm tired of putting up with some of this nonsense, and in the past complained via phone and letter to the office and Mr. Kauffman himself and NOTHING was done (yet amazingly a week or so later we'd get ridicules letters and eviction "warnings" about the smallest and stupidest of things) I'm very very glad Kauffman's gone for good. I hope that the CO-OP given time can find a way to straighten out the trouble makers and enforce the speed limit rules. Although I know that's NOT an easy job and not even sure how to prevent the speeders other than speed bumps? I think I'm going to have to bring my camera outside and try to catch these fools in action.

I wont let my daughter outside unless im there with her most of the time. she is allowed to go to her friends house which is 3 houses away, but when outside with out me, she has no choice but to stay in the yard, i do not want her near the street. not too long ago a black truck came whizzing by and almost rammed my moms car. The speed limit is clearly posted at the entrance, why people chose to not obey it, i will never know. but they need to slow down. Speed bumps would help, even one on each street, but its expensive.
I also have a question...Whiskers and a few other people and i think a board member has been checking out a rotting tree behind my shed, that the wonderful mr kaufman had marked for 3 years now (waiting for a wind storm to knock it over, its that bad) i would like to know if there is a time frame on getting it removed. We want to put in a walkway this year but i dont want to do it if the machinery to do the tree thing will crack it. The last time Kaufman had a tree or 2 removed from my yard, they damaged my driveway and lets all kinds of ruts in my yard, so we need to fix all that. but i dont want to spend time putting in a cement walkway and have the machines wreck it. So if there is a time frame on the removal of the rotting tree, please let me know :) Thank you!!
